This Saturday, AAC will be joining The Never Alone Foundation at their Second Annual Family Jam in Colorado Springs.  This is an amazing organization with a wonderful purpose. Their mission is...

"The Never Alone Foundation invests in families connected with the international adoption community.  Drawing from the foundation's reservoir, we bridge the financial gap to assist parents in bringing orphaned children home.  We also offer aid to parents shouldering significant medical expenses as they endeavor to bring their youngsters to full physical health.  And finally, Never Alone provides finial assistance allowing families to access the unique post-placement services and support that help children with adoption challenges learn to be born in their parents' hearts."

There will be lots of fun things to do and many fantastic families to celebrate with. So stop on by and enjoy the festivities.  While you are there, make sure to come by AAC's table and say hello to Marissa and Nicole. More Exciting News!

The exciting news just keeps coming!  We are delighted to announce that not only has our program grown, but our team has too.  Nicole Brown, previous China Program Coordinator, has rejoined our staff!  Nicole was an integral part of the AAC staff for many years.  As part of the team, she worked diligently to match waiting children with loving families and then guided those families through each step of the process. 

In the fall of 2012, Nicole made the difficult decision to leave the agency in order to continue her education.  Her heart for orphans never diminished though.  So now, with degree in hand, she rejoins our family.  Her tireless passion for adoption advocacy makes her a great fit for the position of Adoption Inquiry and Waiting Child Specialist.  When asked how she feels about returning, Nicole said, “I’m delighted to be back doing what makes my heart happy.  I can’t put into words how amazing it feels to be a part of someone’s journey to grow their family.  Also, I’m very excited about working side by side with an amazing group of people who are passionate about what they do.”

Nicole’s efforts will be directed toward assisting families who are just starting the process.  Families who are interested in adopting from China or Korea, will be able to contact Nicole and receive a detailed explanation of the process and answers to their questions.   Additionally, Nicole will be familiarizing herself with each waiting child’s file.  Then, through a multitude of resources, she will be spreading the word about their need for a forever family.  So… whether you are interested in receiving more information about a specific waiting child or about our programs in general, she is available to assist you.  Feel free to contact Nicole by email at nicole@aacadoption.com or by phone at 970-775-4683.

EXCITING NEWS !!!!

AAC is delighted to announce…..

 

WE ARE GROWING!!!

AAC’s China Waiting Child program is expanding exponentially!   As many of you know, AAC has been participating in the “One to One” program for several years now.  In this program, China Center for Children’s Welfare and Adoption (CCCWA) connects an agency with one or more orphanages.  When the children in the care of those orphanages become legally available for international adoption, their files are sent directly to their partner agency.   The agency then works to match each child with their forever family.  In 2011, when “One to One” was just a pilot program, AAC was matched with three orphanages in the Jiangxi province.  This partnership has made a huge difference in our ability to help families grow.  One of the most beneficial aspects of the program, is the relationship that we have been able to form with the orphanage staff.  The direct communication allows us to obtain as much information as possible about each child.  Not only do we communicate by phone and email, but our staff makes annual trips to each of the orphanages.  During our visits, we photograph and video the children.  We also talk with caregivers about each child’s medical needs, development, and personality.  The pictures, video, and personal experiences offer additional insight to prospective adoptive families.  They are then able to make a more informed decision.    

This program has been so successful, that AAC has been matched with three more orphanages! This means we will be collaborating with a total of SIX orphanages!  We are looking forward to working with each new orphanage and helping many more children get to the loving arms of the moms and dads that are searching for them.

Korean Adoption Continues Strong

Many changes have taken place with the Korean adoption program over the past year, and Korea has made good progress in implementing their new exit and court finalization procedures. We can happily report that since the new laws were implemented, AAC has welcomed home 20 children who have been united with their families, and more families will be traveling to complete their adoptions soon.

AAC’s waitlist for a little boy from Korea is currently very short.  For families living in Colorado, Washington, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah or California, you could be matched with a baby boy shortly after your home study is approved!

And at this time, AAC is opening our waitlist for a little girl from Korea.  The waitlist for a little girl is currently quite short; however, we can’t guarantee how quickly a family may be matched.
