Introducing the Journey of Hope Program

Brand New for 2010- Journey of Hope!

AAC is proud to announce that we have been approved to partner with CCAA in the Journey of Hope Program that matches our agency with 29 waiting children from an orphanage in the Guangdong province. These children range in age from 5 to 13 years old and have diverse special needs. In just two short weeks, four representatives from AAC will travel to China to host a Journey of Hope Day Camp for these kids. We will interact with them through games and activities, and spend some one-on-one time with each of them.

Journey of Hope will give these children a better chance of being placed with a forever family. The videos and personal reports that we bring back will bring to life a child’s file. It is hard to know a child only from pages of medical information. You can’t see how smart or spunky they are in still photos! And they don’t have the opportunity to tell you about their hope for a family. Not only will prospective adoptive parents be able to see a glimpse of a child’s heart but doctors will now have more information on which to base a prognosis.

Another benefit of this program is the opportunity to prepare these children for adoption. We will discuss with them on their level what life is like when you are a part of a family and what life is like in America.

The staff of AAC is very excited to be a part of this venture. After the camp, we will post the children’s information on our website, so keep an eye out and spread the word!

  1. That sounds wonderful. How lucky those new parents will be to have videos of their children.
